Packing Desk

From tote to label in minutes.

Packing Desk turns packing into a simple, guided flow. Scan your tote or order, confirm quantities, pick a box, and print the label. Less friction. Fewer mistakes. Faster despatch.

Faster checks.

Fewer disputes.

Paperless proof.

Remove the bottlenecks at the bench. Work smarter.

Packing stalls when people guess or re-key. With Packing Desk, operators scan the storage unit, sales order, or pick reference, see exactly what’s expected, and follow clear prompts. Packaging is selected up front. Quantities are confirmed (with pop-ups for multiples). Mistakes are fixed with one tap… unpack and re-pack. Close the package, print labels instantly, and auto-start the next parcel if items remain. Printer selection is remembered per station, so shifts stay in flow.

Start seeing results straight away.

Guided, error-proof packing.

On-screen prompts confirm item and quantity. For multi-qty lines, a quick confirmation prevents short or over-packs. If something’s off, tap unpack, fix it, and carry on (no paperwork, no rework later).

Flexible pack strategies.

Set dispatch to Shipment and choose pack strategy by line, by unit, or custom on the sales order. The bench adapts… single parcel, multi-parcel, or mixed, without creating chaos.

Packaging that fits reality.

Pick from boxes, crates, mailers, or custom types. Switch mid-flow if needed. Dimensions and weights update live; hazardous or fragile notes follow the parcel.

One click to close and label.

Hit Close package and labels print immediately. If lines remain, the next package opens automatically, keeping rhythm at the bench and carriers happy at the door.

Keep parcels moving. Work confidently.

Packing Desk gives each team the clarity to move faster. See real-time milestones and shares proof on demand, so queries end quickly and confidence rises.

How Packing Desk works. Behind the clarity.

  1. Set the strategy. On the sales order, choose dispatch strategy (Shipment) and a pack strategy (by line, by unit, or custom). Add packing notes and confirm the address.

  2. Log in & assign printer. Operator logs into Packing Desk and assigns their bench printer; the system remembers this preference.

  3. Identify the work. Scan the tote label, sales order, or pick reference (or enter manually). The screen shows “to pack” vs “done” with expected quantities.

  4. Select packaging. Choose box/crate/mailer. Dimensions and weights (from scale, if connected) calculate live.

  5. Scan and confirm. Scan each item. For multi-qty lines, a confirmation pop-up ensures the expected count.

  6. Fix mistakes instantly. Need to correct. Use unpack to reverse items from the parcel without losing history.

  7. Close & print. Click Close package. Clarus prints the shipping label and, if items remain, auto-creates the next package.

  8. Ship with confidence. The parcel is ready to despatch. All actions (user, time, device, quantities, packaging) are recorded.

FAQs
  1. How do packers start a job?
Scan the storage unit (tote), sales order, or pick reference… or key it in. The desk shows what’s expected and guides the next step.

  2. Can we change packaging mid-pack?
Yes. Switch to a different box or mailer on the fly. Contents and weight recalc, and the audit stays clean.

  3. What if a quantity is wrong?
Use unpack to remove items from the parcel, then scan the right ones. Everything is recorded for traceability.

  4. How are labels printed?
Assign the bench printer once. When you close the package, labels print automatically. The system remembers your preferred device.

  5. Does it support multiple parcels per order?
Absolutely. The desk creates additional packages automatically until all lines are packed, following your chosen pack strategy.

  6. Can we add notes or capture images?
Yes. Packing notes carry through to the parcel, and (if enabled) Image Capture lets you add photos for proof and claims handling.
