Wet bonded operations often devolve into complex spreadsheets and late-night reconciliations. Clarus replaces that with governed data and automation. You record whether duty is paid at receipt. The system tracks liability through to despatch, applies the correct duty calculation per product, and prepares weekly HMRC outputs (so finance, operations, and compliance work from the same truth).
Keep capital in the business until goods leave bond or duty becomes payable. Clarus tracks status from receipt to despatch and shows exactly what will crystallise and when, so cash planning is calm and predictable.
Avoid over- or under-payments. Duty rates and tax types are stored per alcohol product; the correct liability is computed automatically at the point of movement, then rolled into weekly summaries.
All movements are timestamped with user and location. Weekly HMRC reports compile despatched items, tax types, and payable amounts in a single run (minutes, not days).
Bonded logic lives inside the WMS, so auditability spans receiving, storage, and shipping without stitching together third-party tools. Future roadmap includes direct HMRC integration; today you export HMRC-ready outputs for submission.
Wet bond touches operations, finance, and compliance… so everyone needs the same live truth.
See what’s in bond, what’s duty-paid, and what’s about to crystallise. Plan capacity and despatch without risking compliance or cash flow.
Capture status at the door, keep flows clean in storage, and confirm duty logic at ship. Exceptions get guided actions; audits get proof.
Run the report on Friday and submit with confidence. The heavy lifting (matching despatches, tax types, and amounts) is already done.
Bartrums moved from spreadsheet-led control to Clarus WMS to manage a bonded facility and complex customer stock. Receipts, orders, and bonded reporting became intuitive; customers received clean stock reports; and the bonded module scaled with growth. Reliability and cloud delivery reduced overhead, while teams worked independently without constant vendor intervention.
Does Clarus file directly to HMRC?
Today, Clarus produces HMRC-ready weekly duty outputs you can submit. Direct HMRC integration is on the roadmap; we’ll align with the authority’s interfaces when available.
Can we mix bonded and duty-paid stock for the same SKU?
Yes. Status is tracked per receipt/lot/pallet. The system prevents invalid movements and applies duty logic only when payable, keeping mixed flows compliant.
How are duty rates maintained?
Duty attributes live on the product record. When rates or tax types change, update once and new calculations apply immediately; historic movements retain their original logic.
What evidence is available for audits?
Every movement is timestamped with user, device, quantity, location, and decision context (in bond vs duty-paid). Weekly reports itemise payable duty by product and tax type.
Do you support dry bonded goods?
Dry-bonded capability is on our development roadmap. Today’s feature set focuses on wet bonded (alcohol) with full duty tracking and reporting.
Will this slow down despatch?
No. Duty checks and calculations run in the flow of work. Operators follow scanner prompts; finance runs the weekly export; compliance gets the audit trail (without adding steps at the bench).
